Family Affairs Council signs memorandum of cooperation with the Coordinating Council of Social Research Centers

The Family Affairs Council signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Coordinating Council for Social Research Centers – an initiative of the National Center for Social Studies and Research – today, with the aim of raising the level of joint work in the field of research and studies to achieve the goals of the two entities and benefit all family members.

The Family Affairs Council was represented by Her Excellency the Secretary General, Dr. Maimouna bint Khalil Al Khalil, while the Coordinating Council for Social Research Centers was represented by Prof. Dr. Sami bin Abdulaziz Al Damgh.

The memorandum aims to support decision makers by providing studies and reports that contribute to rationalizing and developing policies, promoting scientific research and social innovation to provide solutions related to family and social issues in the Kingdom, enhancing knowledge exchange, developing skills and transferring experiences between the two parties, and investing in the results of studies and scientific research provided by specialists in this aspect, thus activating the role of the two entities in achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The memorandum also defines the areas of cooperation between the two parties to include exchanging information and data of common interest, supporting and proposing social initiatives and innovations, reviewing and developing social policies, conducting research related to the competencies and tasks of both parties, participating in scientific events, seminars and meetings of interest, holding training workshops, utilizing the information and databases available to both parties upon request, facilitating access to experts and consultants affiliated or cooperating with both parties, in addition to establishing a joint information base in the field of research and studies

It is worth mentioning that the memorandum of cooperation stems from the keenness of both parties to enhance joint work in implementing programs and activities that help support and stimulate the research sector in the family and social field, develop it and upgrade all its elements and components, thus contributing to reaching a vibrant society that enjoys stability and well-being.

On this occasion, the Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council stressed the importance of joint work with social research centers to enhance the conduct of studies that examine family issues and challenges in order to ensure access to scientific treatment methods, noting that studies and research is one of the Council’s work streams that aim to empower the relevant authorities and share expertise in the fields of family affairs, in order to achieve the objectives of the National Family Strategy within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
