“The Role of the Family in the Sustainable Development System and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030”

The Family Affairs Council announced that the Saudi Family Forum will be held in its fourth session in conjunction with the fifth anniversary of the launch of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 under the title “The Role of the Family in the Sustainable Development System and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030” with the approval of the Supreme Council and under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Chairman of the Family Affairs Council, Engineer Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi in Riyadh, Hilton Granada Hotel on October 24-25, 2021 in a virtual format for the first time through the virtual forum platform and multiple communication channels that will allow sponsors and speakers to participate and exchange information through virtual halls.

The forum will include a dialogue session with the participation of a number of ministers, experts, national leaders and regional and international organizations from around the world to discuss the most important contemporary family issues and ways to empower and protect them.

The forum will discuss three main themes, including tools to enable the family to make informed decisions in light of the current economic and social changes, the family’s responsibility towards the environment, society and the economy, the role of the family in developing human capital, and the family as a primary sponsor of the cultural and national identity of young people.

In the first theme, experts will talk about the factors influencing family-informed decision-making and their role in the empowerment process, family-supportive legislation and policies, and family council partnerships and solutions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

In its second axis, the forum will discuss the social responsibility of the family as a tool to achieve sustainable development and review effective international models and experiences on the role of the family in protecting the environment, the most prominent economic models to achieve sustainable development in the culture of saving and rational consumption, and the role of the family in developing human capital by developing talents and facing challenges.
The third theme deals with the family and the formation of cultural identity and its role in promoting good citizenship and enshrining its values in the hearts of children, and will discuss international experiences about the family as an educational institution and its role in developing the talents of young people and achieving national goals.

The importance of this annual event lies in solving the most important issues of the contemporary family, which is the basic nucleus of society, as the psychological and social stability of the members of society and their active participation in comprehensive economic development depends largely on the cohesion and interdependence of the family and the understanding of its members of their roles and responsibilities at the level of the family, society and the nation. It is also the first incubator for human capital, as it is the unit that shapes the personality of the Saudi individual with its values and skills and develops the talents of its members from the early years of human life.

On this occasion, Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri, Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, stated that this forum is held for the fourth consecutive year and comes in conjunction with the fifth anniversary of the launch of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, as it is held with the approval of the Supreme Council and is sponsored and supported by the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, and attracts a number of speakers from Their Excellencies ministers and experts at the local and international levels to discuss the most important family issues and contemporary challenges facing it, and ways to enable it to achieve its roles in a way that enhances its position in the sustainable development process, indicating that the Kingdom pays great attention to the family as
