She handed over the chairmanship of the Arab Women’s Committee to the head of the Djibouti delegation
The Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri, headed the Kingdom’s delegation participating in the Arab regional preparatory meeting for the 65th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, organized by the League of Arab States “virtually”.
Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri delivered the Kingdom’s speech during the launch of the meeting in the presence of ministers and ministers of member states, heads of national mechanisms for women, and representatives of regional and international bodies and organizations.
During her speech at the conclusion of the 39th session of the Arab Women’s Committee, the Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council stressed that the Kingdom had the honor of presiding over that session and hosting the events of Riyadh, the capital of Arab women 2020 in a year fraught with challenges for all countries of the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri reviewed the Kingdom’s efforts to implement the goals of women’s empowerment, through the use of technology and the digital space to implement the plans and recommendations of the committee, in addition to following up the work of the committee in partnership with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and member states.
At the end of her speech, Dr. Al-Tuwaijri handed over the chairmanship of the 40th session of the Arab Women’s Committee to the head of the Djibouti delegation, asking God Almighty to grant them every success for the benefit of Arab women, praising the efforts of the Social Affairs Sector of the League of Arab States for its efforts to promote Arab women and enhance their role.
