Saudi Arabia Chairs the 69th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69)

For the first time, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia chaired the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), held in New York from March 10th to 21st, 2025.

An Extraordinary Session

This session coincided with the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, a landmark agenda for women’s empowerment and gender equality.

The Kingdom led discussions on member states’ progress in implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. It also co-organized three high-level side events and hosted an accompanying exhibition showcasing the journey of women’s empowerment in Saudi Arabia since its founding.
The session concluded with a political declaration and an outline of the Commission’s priorities for the next five years.
