Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council receives UNICEF’s Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa

Her Excellency the Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Maymouna bint Khalil Al Khalil, received at the Council’s headquarters on Tuesday the Regional Director of UNICEF in the Middle East and North Africa, Ms. Adele Khader, and her accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Chairperson of the Childhood Committee, Dr. Shireen Al-Oufi, and the Chairperson of the Childhood Advisory Committee, Ms. Ms. Seema Al-Khareef. Seema Al-Khorayef and members of the Childhood Advisory Committee, in addition to a number of members of the Council’s Childhood Committee.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Maimouna Al Khalil welcomed the guest and the accompanying delegation, and expressed her happiness for this meeting, which discusses opportunities for cooperation between the Family Affairs Council and UNICEF and reviews topics of common interest in the field of childhood.

During the meeting, a presentation was made on the Family Affairs Council’s journey and future vision, followed by a detailed explanation by the head of the Childhood Committee of the joint work plan with UNICEF for the current year, while members of the Childhood Advisory Committee reviewed the role of the Committee in ensuring the right of children to express their issues and aspirations, and working with them to develop regulations and formulate national policies to achieve their active participation in realizing the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Maimouna Al Khalil stressed the importance of the Family Affairs Council’s partnership with UNICEF in advancing the process of joint work and the success of all programs that contribute to creating an ideal and empowering environment for children in the Kingdom. She pointed out the importance of this meeting in deepening the bonds of cooperation and continuous coordination to achieve the goals of the Council and the organization in light of the successes achieved during the past period, the most important of which is the project to develop a national framework for child safety on the Internet working with UNICEF experts, which will be launched in March next year.
