Two-day event to discuss family issues
The activities of the virtual forum organized by the Family Affairs Council and the General Women’s Union in the United Arab Emirates in coordination with the Saudi-UAE Coordination Council under the title “Safe Family, Safe Community” kicked off today, with the aim of enhancing the efforts made by the family stakeholders in the Kingdom and the UAE to exchange experiences and learn about the best practices in the field of family stability. The virtual forum discusses the exchange of solutions and experiences in the field of family counseling, highlighting the best positive practices and success stories in the field of family stability, benefiting from experiences, preparing joint training programs, and consolidating the principles of social cohesion, through four dialogue sessions over two days, with the participation of experts and specialists in the family and social field.
On this occasion, the Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri, affirmed that the forum reflects the strong cohesion and unity of purpose between the Saudi and Emirati families, with the generous support of the leadership of the two countries to consolidate and strengthen family and social cohesion by exchanging experiences on best practices in the field of family stability, extending her sincere thanks to the wise leadership in the Kingdom for its continuous support for the family. Dr. Al-Tuwaijri pointed out that the Family Affairs Council and the General Women’s Union share the goals that they seek to achieve in order to serve the family in both countries. She said that the Council aims to make a qualitative leap in the march of social and developmental work in the Kingdom, and take them to broad horizons through serious institutional work whose outputs will empower and support all segments of society to build a vibrant society that enjoys stability and well-being, in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030 and achieving the goals of sustainable development.
For her part, Noura Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of the General Women’s Union, said that the establishment of the “Safe Family, Safe Community” forum came in line with the vision of the wise leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to consolidate the pillars of family stability, preserve its permanence and create a positive role in the lives of its members. Al Suwaidi emphasized that the General Women’s Union, with the support and patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, and in cooperation with the Saudi Family Affairs Council and the Saudi-UAE Coordination Council, has forged new horizons by employing technology and advanced techniques to create ideas and initiatives that will pave the way for family members to enable them to fulfill their roles and support them to deal positively with current changes and challenges, hoping that the forum’s activities will make a real difference in strengthening family cohesion ties and strengthening the social fabric.
It is worth mentioning that the activities of the forum will last for two full days, including four dialogue sessions, the first of which is entitled “My Family is the Source of My Happiness” and deals with marital relations and the importance of utilizing all available means to ensure family balance between spouses, while the second session is entitled “Family Culture and Change Making” and deals with the importance of making appropriate decisions in making changes to circumstances that arise in family relations, and the second session is entitled “Family Culture and Change Making”. On the second day, participants in the first session will discuss the topic of “Positivity to avoid crises and resolve issues”, which focuses on rights, duties and the ability to avoid crises, while the second session deals with “Family and community cohesion” to emphasize the importance of achieving stability in the environment of social and family relations between members of extended families, self-respect and a sense of security and reassurance.
