In collaboration with the Family Affairs Council, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development is preparing to host the third session of the Arab-Chinese Women’s Forum at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. The event, scheduled to take place from December 19 to 20, 2019, is held under the theme “Women and Shaping a Creative and Sustainable Future.” It is being organized under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Labor and Social Development, Engineer Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, with the presence of Her Excellency Prof. Einas bint Suleiman Al-Eisa, Rector of Princess Nourah University, and Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, Secretary-General of the Family Affairs Council. Distinguished officials and representatives from the League of Arab States, the All-China Women’s Federation, the Arab Businesswomen Council, the Arab-African Women’s Business Union, and other stakeholders in social development, will participate in the forum.
“The forum will feature a diverse program of lectures, workshops, and discussion panels addressing critical topics, including non-profit sector initiatives for women’s empowerment, women’s role in investment, the status of women in Arab and Chinese cultures, capacity building in digital and technological fields, and opportunities for partnerships between Arab and Chinese women. In addition, the event will include an exhibition and organized visits for delegations within the university and to the historic Diriyah district. The forum’s objectives include exploring the role of the non-profit sector in supporting women across professional, social, health, and economic spheres. It will highlight women’s contributions to the economy and investment, promote the exchange of business expertise, and identify promising commercial opportunities for women. Discussions will also delve into the status and influence of women in Arab and Chinese cultures, focusing on shared values, similarities, and differences. The forum will showcase leading training and educational programs in economics and technology designed for women, aiming to foster connections and collaboration between Arab and Chinese women across diverse fields. Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri, Secretary-General of the Family Affairs Council, emphasized that the forum reflects the Kingdom’s dedication to enhancing the role of women and supporting their contributions across all sectors. She remarked that Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the event is a testament to the significant care and empowerment Saudi women receive under the wise leadership. This commitment is evident in the transformative decisions that advance women’s progress and active participation in development, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which places human capability development at the heart of its objectives.
