Family Affairs Council receives high-level delegation from Ethiopia

Her Excellency the Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Hala bint Mazeed Al-Tuwaijri, received a high-level visiting delegation from the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, headed by the Minister of State of the Ethiopian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Ms. Elish Ishit, accompanied by Ms. Abia Yusuf, Chairperson of the Standing Committee for Women, Children and Social Affairs in the Ethiopian Parliament, and the delegation includes a number of government figures from the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Labor Organization and the Prime Minister’s Office, who are visiting the Kingdom from October 30 to November 9 to review the Kingdom’s efforts in social and developmental work and follow-up. At the beginning of the visit, the Secretary General welcomed the visiting delegation to the Council, emphasizing the close relationship between the two countries and the keenness of our wise leadership to strengthen relations between the two peoples and governments, followed by an exchange of talks about social work and means of joint cooperation. After the reception, a meeting was held during which an introductory presentation was made about the Family Affairs Council, and the topics on the agenda were discussed, on top of which were the most important issues of women, children and family empowerment.

On this occasion, Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri said that this visit comes within the framework of joint cooperation and exchange of expertise and successful experiences between the two countries, and attention to all that would empower the family and support it to face economic and social challenges. For her part, the State Minister of the Ethiopian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Elish Ishit, thanked the Family Affairs Council for the good reception and hospitality, and conveyed her country’s thanks to the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – for promoting joint cooperation between the two countries, praising the Kingdom’s efforts in social and developmental work and the progress witnessed by the Kingdom under the ambitious 2030 vision of the Kingdom.
