They discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in the family and social field at the level of the two countries
The Family Affairs Council, represented by its Secretary General, H.E. Dr. Hala bint Mazeed Al-Tuwaijri, held a virtual meeting with H.E. Dr. Khawla Abdulrahman Al-Mulla, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, during which they discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in the family and social field at the level of the two brotherly countries and GCC countries to unify all efforts and ensure the best representation of the family, women and children.
The meeting discussed the launch of the Gulf Family Day and the mechanism of joint cooperation in designing and implementing various events to achieve sustainable development for women and children in particular and the family in general, in addition to holding local, regional and international conferences and seminars to discuss issues related to the family and topics of common interest.
This came during a recent consultative meeting held via videoconference between the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah and Her Excellency Dr. Hala bint Mazeed Al Tuwaijri, Secretary General of the Saudi Family Affairs Council, which was attended by Her Excellency Mudhi bint Mohammed Al Shamsi, Head of the Family Development Centers Department, Her Excellency Saleha Gabesh, Director of the Cultural and Media Bureau, and Her Excellency Dr. Hessa Khalfan Al Ghazal, Executive Director of the Child Friendly Sharjah Office (CFSO).
For her part, Dr. Hala bint Mazeed Al-Tuwaijri considered this meeting an advanced step towards establishing Emirati-Saudi initiatives aimed at strengthening social cohesion and achieving support and empowerment for Saudi and Emirati families, noting the importance of joint work between the two councils to adopt and exchange experiences and effective mechanisms in all family issues to reach a stable and secure society in both countries.
Dr. Hala bint Mazeed Al-Tuwaijri stressed the Kingdom’s keenness to provide all capabilities to support the Saudi family and support the efforts of the Family Affairs Council, which aims to enhance the status and role of the family in society and preserve it strong and cohesive, caring for its children and adhering to religious and moral values and ideals, pointing out that the Council, represented by the regional committees, has launched a package of initiatives to meet the needs of the community, at the end of her statement.
On the other hand, Dr. Khawla Al Mulla explained that this meeting comes within the framework of the Council’s keenness to build bridges of effective communication and partnerships with various entities concerned with family affairs, including the Saudi Family Affairs Council, to do everything that would advance the Emirati, Saudi and Gulf family in general, and upgrade its capabilities to build promising generations that bear their responsibilities towards society and are proud of their identity and adhere to noble values, principles and morals, through joint work, cooperation and coordination in programs, events and activities, in addition to adopting effective mechanisms in preserving family cohesion and exchanging experiences in the field of lighting.
Her Excellency Dr. Khawla Abdulrahman Al Mulla said: “The GCC society enjoys security and stability, and the family still maintains its cohesion, values and principles, but the challenges in this regard are great and must be faced by working to develop our social and developmental policies and promote the culture and behaviors of family cohesion in GCC society, to achieve unified goals and push the march of family development to broader horizons,” said Her Excellency Dr. Khawla Abdulrahman Al Mulla.
