The Family Affairs Council held its fourth session on Monday, Muharram 7, 1440 A.H., corresponding to September 17, 2018, under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Minister of Labor and Social Development, Chairman of the Council. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, in the presence of the members of the Council and the Secretary General, Dr. Hala bint Mazeed Al-Tuwaijri, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh. The members discussed a number of topics on the agenda of the meeting, most notably the National Childhood Strategy and family affairs committees in the regions.
The Council’s secretariat was keen to raise many topics of importance and priority in family affairs, such as the study of the causes of family disintegration (divorce in the Kingdom) and the recommendations of the committee to study electronic games issues. It is worth mentioning that the Council seeks to be the official umbrella in the Kingdom to unify the efforts of government sectors regarding family, women, children and elderly issues at the local and international levels. The session concluded with the review and approval of all the topics on the agenda by the members of the Council, and His Excellency the President praised the role of the members and the secretariat in achieving the objectives of the Council.
