Family Affairs highlights the Saudi Family Forum 2018

The Saudi Family Affairs Council held today a press meeting at the Council’s headquarters in Riyadh, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Council, Dr. Hala bint Mazeed Al-Tuwaijri, Director of the Media and Communication Department at the Family Affairs Council, Mishaal Al-Qarni, and a number of media outlets. Dr. Al-Tuwaijri explained that this meeting aims to shed light on the Saudi Family Forum 2018, which will be launched next Sunday, and comes as one of the Council’s products targeting the Saudi family to confirm the interest of the wise leadership in enhancing the status of the family and empowering it, and based on its role in caring for the rights and issues of the Saudi family. She pointed out that the Council will work to organize the forum on an annual basis to discuss each year one of the issues and challenges affecting the reality of the Saudi family in light of the rapid economic and social changes.

This year’s forum comes under the title “Family Economics” in anticipation of the impact of economic transformations on the cohesion of the family and the continuation of its role in development and leading social changes. The forum will discuss a number of topics related to the family economy and review local and international experiences that contribute to finding practical solutions to create an economic balance for the Saudi family, based on conscious energy consumption and full awareness of the importance of rationalization and savings, and focusing directly on the role of the family in preserving natural resources. The forum will be in partnership with a number of economic stakeholders, and a number of economic experts will speak to enrich the forum and achieve the desired goals, in addition to holding four workshops targeting all components of the family in an effort by the Council to make all its events and initiatives influential in the social and developmental scene and touch the needs of the Saudi family.

It is noteworthy that the Council enjoys great support from His Excellency the Minister of Labor and Social Development, Chairman of the Family Affairs Council, Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi, who always directs to build bridges of communication with all relevant sectors in order to empower the family, enhance its status and make it able to face the challenges, and the Family Affairs Council attaches the utmost importance to civil participation in the interest of family issues and solutions, and works on the principle of setting priorities and diversifying partnerships to achieve goals in order to contribute to the development and well-being of society, and recommendations will be drawn at the conclusion of the forum activities to employ them to support the Saudi family economically to be
