Family Affairs Council delegation visits Shura Council

Represented by the Elderly Committee, the Family Affairs Council delegation visits the Shura Council Riyadh, December 13, 2022

A delegation from the Family Affairs Council, represented by members of the Committee for the Elderly, visited the Shura Council yesterday, Tuesday, to attend part of the Shura Council’s sessions and hold a joint meeting with the Shura Council’s Human Resources and Social Development Committee headed by H.E. Dr. Hanan bint Abdulrahim Al Ahmadi, Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council, to discuss ways of joint cooperation between the two entities for the sustainable benefit of the elderly.

The visiting delegation represented a number of members of the Council’s Senior Citizens Committee, and the visit program included a number of activities, including an introductory tour of departments and departments, discussion of topics related to senior citizens, as well as exchange of ideas, opinions and proposals on programs and initiatives that meet the needs of senior citizens.

This visit comes within the Council’s objectives of building partnerships with all sectors and enhancing means of cooperation to contribute to the success of its plans and initiatives aimed at the family with all its components, especially the elderly, in the context of the initiatives of the National Family Strategy and the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030, which aims to achieve quality of life for all family members.

At the end of the visit, the committee members appreciated the good reception they received, and thanked the Shura Council for its cooperation and initiatives to facilitate the participation of government agencies in the sessions and familiarize themselves with the mechanism of its work and achievements.

On this occasion, the head of the Senior Citizens Committee, Ms. The aim of this visit is to fulfill the role of the Family Affairs Council in being a tributary of social and developmental work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a component of a common vision targeting the family to build a vital society in which everyone enjoys a better quality of life, especially the elderly.
