His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region and Chairman of the Regional Council, chaired today the first session of the Council for its first session for the year 1440 AH at his office in the Palace of Governance, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the region and Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council, HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz. His Highness began the meeting by praising and thanking God for the generous and permanent care that our dear country enjoys from the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – recalling the 88th National Day of the Kingdom, which carries with it meanings that deserve respect and honor for the makers of the history of this day, especially the founding King Abdulaziz – may God rest his soul, and his distinguished men who contributed with him in this blessed march with the success of God and then their efforts to unite the parties of this country, which, praise be to God, has materialized over these years into a political, social and economic entity with a high status, an audible word and a great importance at the global and international level.
H.H. Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz welcomed the formation of the Family Affairs Committee of the Provincial Council, headed by Provincial Council member Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, to take care of family affairs within the Kingdom, as recommended by the Council of Ministers to establish committees linked to the head of each region’s council under the name (Family Affairs Committee) to diagnose family challenges in the region, provide appropriate suggestions and solutions and present them to the head of the region’s council for discussion with the relevant authorities. After that, the agenda was reviewed, which started with the review of the minutes of the meeting of the previous (fourth) session of 1439, held on 7/8/1439 AH, which was dedicated to the presentation of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
After that, the report of the Development and Utilities Committee, which included a number of development and service issues, was discussed. The Council praised the initiatives presented by many government agencies on the occasion of the National Day, including the initiative (Serving a Nation), which aims to plant 10 thousand trees in various locations between parks, mosques, streets and others to encourage the culture of afforestation and in line with the vision of the Kingdom 2030, then a presentation on the national water strategy was presented by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
After that, a presentation on the Family Affairs Council was made by the Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Hala bint Mazeed Al-Tuwaijri, then the report of the Economic Development Committee was discussed, as well as the report of the Social Health Committee, the most important of which was the follow-up of bottled drinking water factories in Riyadh, and the Council stressed the need to continue supervisory efforts on drinking water factories, and what was included in the report of the Cultural Media Committee was discussed, in addition to discussing what was included in the report of the Family Affairs Committee.
Following the meeting, the Secretary General of the Riyadh Provincial Council, Adel bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Hamdan, explained the keenness and interest of the Riyadh Emir, Chairman of the Provincial Council, and his constant follow-up of everything that would lead to the prosperity and development of the region and follow up the needs of citizens. At the end of the meeting, the Emir of Riyadh thanked the attendees, wishing them success in all fields and praying for God’s help, success and guidance for all that is good and blessing for this dear country and its future, God willing.
