Family Affairs Council and PepsiCo sign MoU to empower Saudi women

The Family Affairs Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PepsiCo Food Industries in Saudi Arabia to support, empower and enhance the role of women through the development of a number of community initiatives that support them, in line with the strategy of both parties to contribute effectively to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 related to enhancing the status of women and empowering them at all levels and fields.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Her Excellency Dr. Hala bint Mazeed Al Tuwaijri, Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, and Tamer Musallam, Vice President of PepsiCo Food Industries and General Manager of the GCC and Levant Business Unit.

Under the MoU, PepsiCo will participate and sponsor several initiatives and projects that support women’s empowerment and provide contributions to enhance their role in the professional field, especially in the field of entrepreneurship, in addition to providing equal employment opportunities in the company, while the joint cooperation allows PepsiCo to benefit from the expertise that the Council has in supporting women, which will contribute to the realization of the company’s development pillars that relate to this aspect.

On this occasion, the Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Hala bint Mazeed Al-Tuwaijri, stressed the importance of cooperation with all sectors, and that it is in line with the objectives of the Council to enhance the status of the family with all its components, empower its role in society, and keep it strong and cohesive, noting that the Council attaches great importance to building partnerships with various sectors, encouraging ideas and projects that serve the family and support women entrepreneurs.

Dr. Al-Tuwaijri expressed her happiness to cooperate with PepsiCo through its initiatives and contributions in the field of supporting and empowering women and families, stressing that the Family Affairs Council continues to implement the strategic directions of the Saudi family in cooperation with active partners, whether in the public, private or third sectors.
