Today, the Family Affairs Council launched the “Family First” initiative aimed at educating working parents, through a set of general guidelines specialized in the aspects of life, to contribute to organizing the time program inside the home in order to achieve a balance between job obligations and family duties, and introduce them to the best methods and skills that help them in this aspect, in order to mitigate the social effects on the family imposed by the precautionary measures to prevent the Coronavirus pandemic. The initiative works to achieve a number of main objectives: spreading community awareness of the importance of the family, emphasizing the importance of parents’ roles to maintain family cohesion to overcome the coronavirus pandemic crisis, guiding parents on the best methods that help them carry out their family and work duties, and encouraging them to educate their children on the importance of applying precautionary measures to keep them from contracting the virus. The initiative also works to urge parents to invest their time after completing the official work quota (remotely) in an ideal way, and to benefit from training programs to acquire a number of skills for them and their children, and to focus on raising parents’ awareness of the importance of good family planning and the integration of roles between them in order to achieve their family and work goals and preserve the family entity, in addition to providing parents with the most important services and applications they need to provide family requirements in light of precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Corona virus, including social distancing and total and partial curfews. The Secretary-General of the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Hala bint Mazeed Al-Tuwaijri, explained that the “Family First” initiative comes in the context of the Council’s efforts to raise awareness of the family with all its components in all aspects of life, especially parents, in order to enable them to overcome the Corona crisis and overcome its expected effects in order to strengthen the cohesion of the family and preserve its entity to play its role in society to the fullest, expressing her thanks to the parties that contributed to the adoption of this initiative and worked to achieve its goals. It is noteworthy that the “Family First” initiative works to broadcast awareness-raising media messages to achieve the goals of the initiative and deepen its impact through traditional media, digital platforms of the Council and partners in its implementation, as this initiative comes in partnership with a number of government, private and third sector entities related to the fields of labor, training and rights, in addition to entities that provide services to the family with all its components.
