Family Affairs Council launches “Raised with Your Honor” campaign to support early childhood

Held over 4 weeks in partnership with UNICEF, it focuses on the child’s 1,000-day journey and the importance of early childhood

The Family Affairs Council, in partnership with UNICEF, is launching an awareness campaign on Sunday titled “Raised by You” to raise awareness of early childhood needs, focusing on the “first thousand days of a child’s life,” which is the cornerstone of ensuring children’s access to nutrition, health, learning, safety, security, and responsive care.

The campaign aims to promote national efforts and initiatives that support early childhood, sensitize parents, caregivers and workers to the importance of children’s nutrition and health needs, and spread awareness of the importance of the first thousand days of a child’s life and the early childhood stage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The campaign addresses eight main topics over four weeks, including (Overview of Early Childhood and Brain Development) in the first week, (Healthy Nutrition and Interactive Parenting) in the second week, (Child Safety and Security and Early Learning) in the third week, and (Public Health and the Role of Parents in Early Childhood) in the fourth week.

On this occasion, the head of the Childhood Committee at the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Shirin Al-Oufi, confirmed that the campaign comes from the activation of the Childhood Committee’s plan approved by the Family Affairs Council in cooperation with the strategic partner UNICEF.

She explained that the campaign aims to raise awareness about early childhood and the importance of children’s developmental needs, which include proper nutrition, general health, the role of parents, and security and safety.

The Ministries of Human Resources, Social Development, Education, Information and Health, as well as the Human Rights Commission, the General Authority for Audiovisual Media, the National Family Safety Program and the Child Welfare Association are participating in the campaign.
