Family Affairs Council organizes a workshop to update the National Plan for Women

With the participation of 26 government agencies, the Family Affairs Council holds a workshop to update the National Plan for Women Riyadh, January 18, 2023

Today, the Family Affairs Council held a workshop to align the ongoing update of the National Plan for Women within the framework of the National Strategy for the Family based on the strategic direction based on the Supreme Decree, in the presence of Her Excellency the Secretary General of the Council, Ms. Haila bint Mohammed Al-Mukairish, and the participation of representatives of 26 government agencies, in addition to the Council’s experts in the Women’s Committee.
On the occasion of the workshop, Her Excellency the Secretary General emphasized the importance of the role played by the Family Affairs Council since its establishment in preserving the family with all its components through its integrated approach with all sectors, as this workshop works to harmonize national efforts through coordination between the concerned authorities to create an enabling environment for women in all areas of development to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The workshop reviewed the National Plan for Women and its alignment with the strategic direction based on the Supreme Decree, with relevant government agencies to ensure the comprehensiveness and integration of women-oriented initiatives, and discussed the activation plan and the development of enablers to implement it.

The workshop concluded with the presentation of the final recommendations for updating the plan, and agreement on a clear action plan to follow up on the implementation of regulatory and procedural reforms that empower women in all sectors at the level of the Kingdom’s regions.

The National Plan for Women comes within the framework of the National Strategy for the Family, which was approved by the Council of Economic Affairs and Development, to enhance the role of women and empower them in the economic, social and cultural fields, and at the international level, through a package of programs and initiatives that achieve the strategic objectives of the Family Affairs Council in areas related to women.

The workshop included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Sports, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Ministry of Economy and Planning, Human Rights Commission, Public Prosecution, Cybersecurity Authority, Statistics Authority, Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities, Institute of Management (Gender Balance Center), Human Capacity Development Program, National Community Development Program in Mann
