Memorandum of Understanding to enrich the family and childhood database

Riyadh 08 Ramadan 1439 AH, corresponding to May 24, 2018 M The Family Affairs Council and King Abdulaziz University Scientific Endowment signed yesterday, in Jeddah, a memorandum of understanding that aims to enrich the family and childhood database in the scientific, research and community practical fields, conduct relevant studies and statistics, and develop indicators that contribute to achieving sustainable development. The memorandum was signed by the Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Hala bint Mazeed Al-Tuwaijri, and the Executive Director of the Scientific Endowment at King Abdulaziz University, Dr. Issam Kawthar.

Under the memorandum, the Scientific Endowment will prepare studies, research and consultations on family and childhood, create and develop executive programs and initiatives with sustainable impact for the Kingdom’s children, as well as develop performance indicators in childhood and monitoring and follow-up tools, and harness the latest tools, methodologies and technologies in conducting research and developing performance indicators. The Scientific Endowment will also inventory and review local, regional and international statistics, studies, research, regulations and legislation related to family and childhood, make recommendations on appropriate practices for Saudi society, issue periodic reports on family and childhood at the Kingdom level, organize specialized forums, symposiums and workshops on family and childhood issues, and create national awards in the field of childhood.

According to the memorandum, the Family Affairs Council will study the programs and initiatives presented by the scientific endowment, provide support and provide an official national umbrella for the outputs of the memorandum, and cooperate with local and international organizations to achieve and promote the goals of the memorandum. The memorandum establishes cooperation between the two entities in holding specialized forums, forums and workshops on family and children’s issues, establishing programs, community participation and communication initiatives for families and children, enhancing cooperation to increase the social and developmental return from initiatives and services, and providing and implementing innovative solutions to address challenges and developmental needs in the fields of family and childhood. It is noteworthy that the Family Affairs Council seeks to enable non-profit organizations to achieve a deeper impact by building and developing partnerships, which contributes to the integration of agencies and raising the efficiency of work, based on the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The Scientific Endowment at King Abdulaziz University is a modern endowment organization based on developing and serving society by supporting the movement of science, knowledge and scientific research, and launching innovative community and awareness initiatives in various scientific, social, economic, health and environmental fields according to scientific criteria and community priorities
