Promoting integration, empowerment and improving the quality of life The Family Affairs Council concludes the Family Development Associations Forum

The first Family Development Associations Forum “Integration and Empowerment” concluded its work, in the presence of leaders and representatives of family associations in the Kingdom, as well as experts and those interested in social and family affairs.
The forum, organized by the Family Affairs Council in cooperation with the specialized sub-council of family development associations, aims to enhance cooperation and support integration between governmental and private entities to improve the quality of family life.

In her opening speech, Dr. Maimuna bint Khalil Al Khalil, Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, explained that health, psychological and social well-being is one of the priorities of Saudi Vision 2030, so it is at the core of its aspirations that everyone enjoys a high quality of life; in order to form a solidly built society, with a commitment to promote social development by strengthening family ties.
She explained that the forum seeks to promote the importance of cooperation and support the integration of joint efforts, which would achieve the vision of the Family Affairs Council as a national entity empowering the family, a reference for its institutions locally, and a representative of it internationally. She pointed out that the number of family associations in the Kingdom is 110, which seeks to improve the quality of life for Saudi society and promote family stability through programs, initiatives and activities.

For his part, Mr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Turki, Executive Vice President of the Nonprofit Sector Development Center, stressed that the nonprofit sector seeks, since its inception, to have an active role in the state system, and to leave an impact in the developmental fields, and did not overlook the importance of the family as the nucleus of society, which if developed in the required manner, society will grow in the fullest form.
Mr. Yousef Al-Jabira, Chairman of the Specialized Sub-Council for Family Development Associations, expressed his happiness with the joint interest in the family from all three sectors, governmental, private, and the non-profit third sector, and welcomed the charitable community partnership in society, and called for strengthening and strengthening it for the good of families and society.
The forum’s dialog sessions discussed three main themes, namely: Integrating the roles of family development associations in improving the quality of family life, empowerment opportunities for family development associations, and the role of associations in family counseling.

The agenda also included the presentation of the National Family Strategy, as well as presentations of successful experiences of a number of family development associations in the Kingdom.
