His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Northern Borders Region, received in his office in the Emirate today, the Secretary-General of the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Hala bint Mazid Al-Tuwaijri. During the reception, the role of the Family Affairs Council was discussed, which aims to strengthen the Saudi family, its role in society, and its advancement to be a stronger family that cares for its children and adheres to the religious and moral values and ideals that the Islamic religion cares about, and builds a knowledge-based family that contributes to achieving sustainable development.
His Highness discussed the strategy of the Family Affairs Council and the establishment of a special committee to serve family issues in the Northern Borders Region, in addition to unifying the efforts of all government sectors regarding the issues of children, women and the elderly. His Highness also called for implementing the initiatives of the Family Affairs Council in the region, in addition to holding Family Affairs Council workshops and awareness campaigns, stressing that the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 has enabled Saudi women to participate in decision-making and hold leadership positions in the public and private sectors, and has contributed to increasing their job opportunities and participation in economic and social development.
For her part, Dr. Al-Tuwaijri expressed her thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Prince of the Northern Borders Region for the warm welcome, stressing that the directives of the wise leadership – may God support them – in the Kingdom focus on sustainable development and the empowerment of women and girls, and that the Kingdom has established the necessary national frameworks to achieve these goals. The Council is also keen to expand women’s participation in all areas of development to prove their worthiness, efficiency and ability to perform their role.
