In cooperation with the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, the Family Affairs Council organizes a family seminar entitled “How to choose a life partner?” Riyadh, January 19, 2023
The Family Affairs Council organized a family symposium on Wednesday under the title “How do I choose a life partner?” As the first session of the Family Dialogue Series in cooperation with the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, hosted by family and marriage therapist Dr. Abdulhakim Al-Yousef, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, Ms. Hila bint Muhammad Al-Mukayresh, the head of the Women’s Committee, Dr. Lana bin Saeed, and a member of the Women’s Committee, Dr. Sanaa Al-Otaibi, and the participation of a group of young men and women.
The talk series aims to create a space where young people who are about to get married and newlyweds can share their expectations and help them form a positive image of the institution of marriage by hosting experts and specialists in family and marital relations.
During the seminar, they discussed how today’s youth build the idea of marriage and their criteria for choosing a life partner, in which they agreed on the importance of educational, financial, social, social and environmental compatibility, the suitability of desires and interests between the two partners, as well as their high level of awareness.
During the seminar, Al-Yousef emphasized the importance of clarifying the criteria for choosing a life partner before embarking on the step of marriage, and taking into account that young people have a system of values and skills that enable them to cooperate and harmonize to build a successful marital relationship.
The dialogue series comes in line with the Council’s role in monitoring the challenges facing the institution of marriage and working on solving them in partnership with specialists and experts, in addition to engaging community members to build specialized programs and initiatives that contribute to family stability.
