To raise awareness of the dangers of bullying and ways to combat it The Family Affairs Council launches the third edition of the “You Have a Right” awareness campaign

The Family Affairs Council, with the support of the Capacity Development Program, one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030, and with the participation of a number of stakeholders and partners, launched today the media campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of bullying under the slogan “You have a right”, and its activities will continue until February 14.

The Kingdom-wide campaign aims to raise community awareness of the dangers of bullying and the importance of confronting it, and to strengthen the role of the family in addressing it effectively. The campaign’s awareness messages target the main groups: parents, children, educators and members of the community in general, in order to activate their role in curbing bullying through proper methods and providing children with the necessary skills and correct guidelines to confront this aggressive behavior that causes physical and psychological harm to children and extends its harmful impact on their academic performance and social relationships.

The campaign plan consists of three phases, each of which represents one axis. The “Prevention Axis” deals with raising awareness of the correct concept of bullying and recognizing its signs and types, the “Protection Axis” deals with the subject of response and the correct way to deal with bullying situations and appropriate procedures, and the “Support Axis” is concerned with strengthening the role of the family in providing emotional and moral support in cases where children are subjected to bullying.

The campaign includes organizing a number of training workshops and employing all visual, audio and print media as well as social media platforms to disseminate awareness and educational content, which includes designs and videos aimed at children and their families, with the contribution of more than 50 partners from relevant entities in various governmental, private and non-profit sectors.

On this occasion, Dr. Maimuna bint Khalil Al Khalil, Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, explained that this campaign is the third version launched by the Council in the framework of combating bullying, and comes as an extension of the Council’s efforts to raise awareness as one of the strategic tracks. She stressed that spreading awareness of the rights and duties of family members and raising awareness of the importance of family issues and ways to address them are among the most important roles assigned to the Council, in its relentless efforts to empower the family, deepen its cohesion, preserve its identity and values, and improve its quality of life.
It is worth mentioning that the Family Affairs Council is organizationally linked to the Council of Economic Affairs and Development, and seeks to embody its societal mission by providing programs and services to the family and its stakeholders, and building integrated initiatives to enhance its role in the sustainable development process in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030.
