The Family Affairs Council in Riyadh is holding a series of workshops in cooperation with private sector organizations as part of a project to inventory all statutory instruments issued for Saudi women in all sectors and assess the extent of their activation and implementation.
The workshops kicked off on Sunday, January 14, and will continue until Thursday, January 18, with the aim of reviewing women’s regulations in several axes: Regulatory, economic, political, social and civil, with the hosting of a number of representatives of government agencies and relevant civil society organizations.
The project aims to monitor and inventory data on women, then activate this data and link it to the current status of women’s empowerment and the actual challenges they face, in order to strengthen the women’s file in international organizations and bodies, and propose regulations and programs that contribute to achieving this goal.
By holding these workshops, the Family Affairs Council seeks to gather the opinions and views of experts and specialists on the implementation and impact of laws and regulations aimed at enhancing the status of Saudi women in various sectors.
