Study Summary:
This study aims to explore the repercussions of the total and partial lockdown on Saudi families during the COVID-19 pandemic by analyzing the social, economic, psychological, health, and educational impacts imposed by these exceptional circumstances. The study adopted a descriptive and analytical approach using quantitative and qualitative research tools such as questionnaires, interviews, and focus groups, including a sample of 2023 families from various regions of the Kingdom. The results concluded that the lockdown positively contributed to strengthening family relationships, increasing dialogue and participation in household chores, in addition to stimulating savings and attention to health. Conversely, challenges emerged related to economic pressures, job losses, and the difficulty of balancing work and homeschooling. The study also highlighted the importance of activating digital communication infrastructure and psychosocial care during crises.
