The Family Affairs Council is marking World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15, 2026, Through an awareness campaign aimed at enhancing awareness of positive practices in dealing with older persons, and promoting the values of respect, appreciation, and supportive care for them within the family and the wider community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The campaign reflects the Council\u2019s commitment to raising awareness of family-related issues and enhancing the quality of life of older persons by highlighting the importance of positive daily interactions, strengthening their social participation and inclusion, and contributing to a more aware and supportive environment that recognizes their value and responds to their needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The campaign focuses on several key awareness themes, most notably respect and appreciation, as well as quality interaction and care. Using educational and media content, it highlights the importance of positive behaviors in interacting with older persons and promotes awareness of the role of families and communities in supporting them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the campaign, the Council is also fostering partnerships across the government, non-profit, private, and media sectors to unify efforts and enhance the reach of awareness messages to various segments of society, consequently contributing to the promotion of a culture of appreciation, respect, and care for older persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
